Ben King has officially played his last game for Gold Coast.
The star goalkicker has told the Suns he will exercise his right to move as a restricted free agent in October.

He is expected to land at Hawthorn, though his club of choice is yet to be confirmed.
“Ben King has today informed the club of his intention to explore his options as a restricted free agent during the upcoming free agency period,” Gold Coast said in a statement.
“As a restricted free agent, Gold Coast retains the right to match any offer made to Ben by another club and will consider all options in its best interests.
“King has not advised Gold Coast of his desire to join a particular club. The free agency period opens on Friday, October 2.”
King was visible emotional after Gold Coast’s Round 24 victory over St Kilda last Thursday night, admitting to Channel 7 after the game that it might have been his last game in Suns colours.
“Yeah obviously it’s time to to work through that now,” he said.
“To be honest, I’ve been just trying to get through game to game and trying to get some wins on the board and finish off properly.
“Obviously there’s a bit to work through there. I’m sure that’ll happen when it happens.
“But so proud of this group and I’ve absolutely loved playing with these boys.”
King, who has booted 315 goals in 143 games, was originally tipped to stay at the Suns on a two-year deal before the narrative shifted mid-season.
The Hawks are believed to have tabled a six-year contract for the Melbourne-born 26-year-old.
If the Suns opted against matching the bid and forcing a trade then they will likely receive pick No.7 as compensation.
