Influencer and model Nara Smith receives outpouring of support after revealing daughter’s cancer diagnosis

Influencer and model Nara Smith has received an outpouring of support from friends and fans after revealing her two-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with cancer.

Smith, 24, shared an emotional video on Thursday revealing her daughter, Whimsy-Lou, was diagnosed last year after she and husband Lucky Blue Smith noticed “something suspicious”.

They were referred to a paediatrician for further tests, which confirmed their daughter had cancer which had spread to other parts of her body.

The video has since been viewed more than 30 million times across Instagram and TikTok, with fans and celebrity friends flooding the comments with messages of support.

Australian actress Claire Holt wrote: “Praying so hard and sending so much love.”

US singer Meghan Trainor, model Winnie Harlow and late actor James Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly also shared their well wishes.

“There is no easy way to say this, or talk about any of this,” Smith said.

“When we saw something suspicious on her, we took her to the ER and they didn’t quite know what to make of it.

“So when we took her into our paediatrician, I just remember him going really quiet and calm … and my heart dropped in that moment.

“I don’t know if it was my gut telling me something, or just mum’s intuition, but the first thing I felt was she has cancer.”

After the appointment, the family was told to take Whimsy-Lou to the nearest children’s hospital for further testing.

Following an X-ray, ultrasounds and a biopsy, they received the call confirming the devastating diagnosis.

Smith said doctors told them the cancer had spread and her daughter needed to begin chemotherapy immediately.

The mum-of-four said she has since turned to online forums, social media and other parents for support and guidance.

“All of that combined has brought me a lot of comfort and alleviated the feeling of loneliness for me,” Smith said.

“We wanted to share this to hopefully bring someone else that comfort.

“Or even incentivise you to go get something checked out that you’ve been avoiding.

“Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard.”

Smith said the diagnosis explained why she had been posting less on social media, describing the challenge of balancing motherhood and work while managing Whimsy-Lou’s hospital appointments.

“Finding that balance is something that I struggle with on a daily basis,” Smith said.

“Some days are a little easier, some days are really hard.”

The social media star, who has more than 17 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, has built a massive online following thanks to her videos showcasing elaborate homemade meals for her growing family.

Viewers regularly see Smith with Whimsy-Lou and her three other children — Rumble Honey, Slim Easy and Fawnie Golden, who was born in October 2025.

Her content has sparked discussion around the concept of “trad wives” — a term referring to women who embrace stereotypical or traditional family roles.

But Nara has publicly rejected the label, insisting that she and Lucky Blue are quite modern in their views.
